They apparently don't care if they live either.

Why would anyone think single payer or universal healthcare is free? No one enjoying either of those systems in any of the countries providing them think of it as "free stuff"; that's an 'American only' affliction.

You're conflating Americans with those that have a modicum of common sense and think nothing of the sort.

Health insurance premiums are increasing for people that pay their entire premium too. For people 50-65, the premiums will increase significantly. If someone has a preexisting condition, or doesn't YET have one but later gets one, their premiums can triple or quadruple or go higher than that. This will happen to people that pay their entire premium without any subsidy. Not one penny of free stuff.

Trumpcare's insurance premiums are going to make some middle class hard working people broke - even folks that don't take one cent of free stuff from the government and never did in their entire life. These are the folks that will be hit hardest by Trumcare price increases. Insurance rate will increase so much for some people that they will drop their insurance because they cannot afford the premiums. This is where deaths will occur. Regular hardworking people will be impacted.

I think this is a big part of the problem. A lot of Americans just do not understand how universal healthcare works.

So then do you suppose they would rather fight their own house fires too? That would be in keeping with your suggested philosophy.

But the important thing? The insurance companies will still be profitable and that's what counts. At least 30% of healthcare costs are related to overhead due to insurance.

I don't understand why we have to subsidize Aetna's shareholders with tax dollars when they add zero value to the healthcare encounter between doctor and patient. If anything, they delay care.

Andy Borowitz is the New York Times best-selling author of “The 50 Funniest American Writers”. He may have authored a book about the 50 funniest american writers but he isnt one of them.

Trumpcare could be an enormous gift to the Democrats but they will figure out how to screw that up, when you put people like Nancy Pelosi , Chuck Shumer ,Keith Ellison, Tom Perez etc to head your party they arent going to win . The media centers need to be moved out of Manhattan, Hollywood, and DC if the Democrats are ever going to win and come into power again. Metrosexuals , "metros" and urbanites and celebrities are not the path to victory.

There is way too much media power in Manhattan, DC, and Hollywood for Democrats to really revive their party and understand America.

I know.. Ignorance is to their detriment. They somehow have been brainwashed to believe Our ( Canadian) HC is free.. That's ridiculous.. BUT decades of false narratives preached to so many about "Socialism" has indeed damaged the comprehensive skills!!

So, as an example.. folks pay 10,000 thousand+ of dollars a year ( single/Family) + their deductibles... and somehow feel they benefit ( course without.. They could be in debt hundreds of thousands .. Course the Rich folk pay many thousands a month with smaller deductible ( which THEY CAN AFFORD)) therefore have no fears of being denied.

Point of Universal is Everyone ( Citizens/ Employers / Self-Employed folks through taxes) PAYS.. so IF USA has a populations of 320 Million.. yowza.. Obviously not ALL will claim daily, weekly, monthly in HC Claims.. BUT the participation payments goes towards the funding of the WHOLE.

In Canada.. Every year for those making more than $20K taxable income also has to pay a "Surcharge" ... So yes even us lower income folks still have to pay a few hundred bucks.. The Elite and Upper Elite will have to pay that surcharge too ( with a ceiling of course).
In Canada.. provinces run their own system.. but Citizen's who travel from Province to Province has portability.. Then To add to the support to the System.. Feds. Kick in $$ proportional to population + add that to Funding to Hospitals .

I say again.. HC is NOT free for anybody.. and for anyone to claim such BS about Medicare.. is being ignorant.. Payments by working folks have been pre-paying into this throughout their adult working life! So no Freebee there. I just Marvel just how mis-informed American System actually works... Capitalism is during on the test of consumers of HC Insurance... But, have such deductibles that negate that consumer of utilizing it unless and of course they have $$$$$$!

I.e. I worked in a CLINIC that treated people with Auto Immune Issues.. There were a lot of American's who came up here for treatments.. WHY, BECAUSE US had limits on # of treatments.. and was well known by stopping it.. caused a huge regression of disease process. So, YEP.. Those who had $$ and ability to travel and get their treatment.. came up here for it!! Kind of SAD!!

Throw those losers with Health issues to the gutter.. and allow Survival of the fittest to survive. this had been used when looking at the Animal chain and survival.. NOT Humans!1 I actually believed Human's had evolved beyond the Beast mentality.. Mother Nature can be cruel.. But Human beings should be beyond such belief!! Obviously GOP Politicians want to treat imperfect and unworthy financially are left to their own devices!! No Help, No support, no empathy, no RESPECT... OHHH Wait.. You won the LOTERY.. Wowza.. YOU know inherit not just $$ but RIGHTS to get HC!!

This whole topic actually depresses me.. especially because I'm discussing this with a Free/Democratic Society who SHOULD KNOW better. Freedom of speech is great.. BUT if people have a deaf ear.. they will succumb and BECOME Ignorant!! I'm sure reading a lot of that on C-D surrounding this issue!!
