Hmmm. I'd like to listen in when you tell your child that most liberals agree with abortion on demand. Love and protect all living things, indeed.

True conservative would not have increased the size of government the way the current group of Republicans have done lately.
This is a key point. Many, many conservatives sat out the 2006 elections for this very reason.

Anyways, how can you Conservatives be religious, vehemently anti-abortion and OK with environmental degradation?
because they are all different issues and not all conservatives feel the same way about each one....we're not ok with environmental degradation...we are not....

So the species that have become extinct at the hand of 'mere man' were not the Lord's creations?

Or is it just a typically tunnel-visioned response?

That's what I'm teaching my children, anyway.
I think you may be surprised when your kids flee at 18 and vote Republican in response to the above silliness.

The problem here is that liberals believe the government should make people love and protect all living things (of course, the "goodness" of liberals is as laughable as that of the conservatives, especially in America). I have conservative values because I think a person should have a choice as to how to act towards other people. Am I personally inclined to give to charity? If I can afford it, yes. And would I personally think somebody a jackass for not being willing to help his fellow man? Yes, probably, in a lot of circumstances, I would. But do I think a person should have a choice as to whether or not they give? Hell yes; I like to think that man will willingly give and help and protect, without being forced to. And if he or she won't, then that's their call.

Conservatism, especially under its guise of today, has its issues. But the above is silliness.

Like those above, I too await a response...and I also have some questions. You're implying that those who dare suggest man can destroy god's creations are elitist and liberal? Are you saying that it doesn't matter what man does because god will eventually intervene and fix things? If so, then why abide by ANY rule if there's no consequences to worry about? Why is the planet so worthless to those profess to believe in "the Lord"? Amazing to me that anyone could read about mountaintop removal (like so many other environmental issues) and not respond to it like they've been punched in the gut.
