It's not a seperate graduation ceremony. It's more like an additional one. Everybody goes to the main ceremony and afterwards(?) the black grad student graduates are getting together to have a celebration.

It doesn't say white people can't come.

These kinds of things happen at undergraduate graduations all the time. There is a main graduation, and there are several smaller offshoot "graduations" or ceremonies or parties for subgroups. Lavender Graduation (for LGBTQ populations) are extremely common. Some academic departments have them too, depends on the school.

...that is separate. ...by race. But that's totally cool -- it's 2017.

If the white students decided that they wanted an all white graduation I am sure the blacks would be outraged.
Why do you care?

Who cares if some school group wants a whites only separate graduation?

I mean seriously, WTH.....there is no free pass for such exclusion in this day and age.

Whites, Asians, Blacks, Men only.....doesn't matter it's wrong.

People will look back on this era 40 years from now and shake their heads just like we look back at the BS treatment of gays, women, minorities etc.

Such as? Haven't most of them been ordered to allow all in?
Besides you see racism against blacks in everything- yet double standards are fine as long as they favor your race. Just admit you're as racist as those you disagree with. Just admit you want favoritism, preferential treatment and payback against whites and not equality. Rules are for white folks- expecting blacks to obey societies norms is racism, right

I have no problem if black university students want to celebrate graduation separately, black only dorms, black only classes, or any other forms of self segregation. I used to think such demands were divisive, but if that is what college educated blacks want, I don't care.
