So, discussion is on Trump and the Paris accords about reducing emissions so then it got into coal burning plants etc etc. etc.

All pretty standard stuff.

Then it got funny because they cited how coal was already on the way out because of cheaper, cleaner stuff and went into that for a while.

But they didn't want to say the F-word....Fracking.

Just struck me as funny because you could tell by the course of the discussion that they were tip-toeing around the WHAT the cheaper alternatives were, heck now that I think about it they may not have even mentioned natural gas....just some mysterious fuel source that has replaced coal that we get from the magical land of Unicornia perhaps?

Anyway, was just funny because they were being pretty thorough so it was rather glaring that they didn't touch why coal was being priced out and with what etc.

Maybe they're on the "do not say" list for that word.

Here at C-D I've learned that words can be "owned" by certain groups and those groups dictate when, where, and why that word can be said.

Well, it sounds like they need to watch their mother-fracking mouths. After all, fracking kids listen to NPR. Good on em for cutting that silt out!

This segment? They talk about natural gas. I don't see/hear your "tip-toeing around".

Thanks, like I said I may have missed that mention.

Still, I just found it funny because it's such a key part of the story where you have dirty coal plants being transferred to fracking related natural gas.

I mean especially when covering a topic with essentially environmental roots why not mention fracking???

Don't you find it a little odd?

I think you have a really good point....how do we ignore fracking?

And y'all gave me a chuckle with the f-word......needed that.

Most likely, they believe deep down in their soul that solar and wind are replacing coal. They probably also assume that when its cloudy and no wind, everybody runs off of a big battery.
