They should worry more about Equifax and what information the Feds are collecting on everyone.

i used to use kasperski, and was quite happy with it. but when i upgraded my laptop, i changed back to norton antivirus, but not because kasperski was a russian based software company.

exactly right. even if the russians built in an information gathering bit of software and put it in their antivirus, what are they going to get from me? what books i read? what DVDs i buy? what music i listen to? what forums i visit? and even if they did get all that information, what can they do with it?

what equifax and the feds collect on the other hand is more intrusive, and equifax is full of holes right now.

I've used ESET for years with no problems. It automatically scans several times per day. A Swedish company, not very expensive.
