You're getting the next best sample of what it was like now. And it will probably end the same way.

Yeah I'm too young to remember. It's been interesting talking to older people about what they remember and the parallels with what is happening now. Hoping this moves faster though.

Hope not. In December we learned that Nixon deserved to be executed. He cost a lot of American soldiers their lives.

Now we know Nixon lied. A newfound cache of notes left by H. R. Haldeman, his closest aide, shows that Nixon directed his campaign’s efforts to scuttle the peace talks, which he feared could give his opponent, Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, an edge in the 1968 election. On Oct. 22, 1968, he ordered Haldeman to “monkey wrench” the initiative.

Nixon...the second worst President this country has ever had next to the current one. That's saying a lot because this country has has some real stinkers. Nothing compares to the pure evil and psycopathy of Nixon and Trump.

Hopefully this ends faster than Watergate did. It was a full two years before Nixon resigned.

Nixon resigned and Pence ... er ... I mean Ford pardoned him.

Ford paid dearly for that as well.

I'll be curious if Pence will do the same thing or if he will let former President Trump spend the rest of his days in prison.

Perhaps you should read this article.

Comey sacking doesn't rise to Watergate levels - BBC News

The article compares Nixon and the current administration problems. It's not really as serious as the op makes it out to seem. This is coming from a liberal news station.

The BBC isn't liberal. It's one of the most balanced and trustworthy news sources we have.

What do those who start useless wars that needlessly get people killed deserve?

Predictions about Trump don't have a good track record. Keep counting him out if it makes you feel better, though.
