You apparently don't understand the implications of the Comey firing. While in the service I HAD to rely on American intelligence. My life depended on it. A relationship of trust is established. That trust is part of the fabric that holds this country together.

When Nixon started acting paranoid and began trying to eliminate anyone who might take him down, that fabric began to erode and Americans began to question the president, not the media, not Intelligence, not the other political party. We knew something was terribly wrong and the stability of our country was in jeopardy.

It's not just THAT Trump fired Comey, it's HOW he fired him and the weakly pathetic reasons he gave for doing so. As President of the United States, Donald Trump has an obligation to the people of our country to ACT like the President. And that means if you fire the Director of the FBI, you'd better do it with the dignity the office demands and you'd better have a VERY good reason for doing so.

Trump disgraced himself, the FBI, Jim Comey and America. That's why the Republicans cannot survive if they go on supporting him. America will not stand for it, for if they do, America will soon not stand at all.

It's just all terrible. Trump's uranium deal with Russia, his being paid hundreds of thousands to give speeches in Russia, staff members being on Russian boards. Oh, wait!

It's time for a few Republicans to begin speaking and acting like Americans instead of like weaselly politicians. It seems that many are sitting by eager to dismantle health care in order to shovel big tax cuts to the wealthy and they'll stand by tRump until they get that accomplished because they understand that he's willing to sign anything they put in front of him, likely w/o reading it first.

Yesterday, Senate Intelligence Committee Republicans voted alongside Democrats and unanimously agreed the Committee only needs the votes of the chairman and ranking member when issuing subpoenas. Previously it required all members to vote. This vote was in response to Trump's personal attorney failure to agree to appear before them.

More and more Republicans are starting to walk away from blind support of Trump. If they expect to win enough mid terms to keep control, this trend will continue.

Which Republicans are starting to walk away from supporting Trump?

A lot of them are "troubled," of course. But that's about it.

We're almost back to the 1890's in terms of economic policy. How much more conservative should we get on economic policy? Should we bring back child labor?

See we do have something in common after all!!! Loving watching the Republicans squirm and feeling much schadenfreude as this cluster____ unfolds before our eyes. In the long run, defending the indefensible is only shrinking their base.

I suppose it's only a matter of time before conservatives start calling our intelligence services, our armed forces, our Post Office workers or anyone willing to stoop so low as to work for our citizens, as the "enemy of the people"...

This vote was unanimous, which in today's political climate is rare. But what it does is allow the investigation to proceed more quickly. And they did it in response to Trump's personal attorney saying he would not appear before them. If you are blindly loyal to Trump, you would never vote for that.

That says they want Trump's attorney in there talking. If he claims attorney-client privilege, they tell him to ask his client for permission to answer their questions. If Trump refuses, they put that in consciousness of guilt column of evidence.

Any way you look at it, the Republicans who voted for this were not acting out of loyalty to Trump. If I'm Trump, I would not count those Republicans as supporters.

It will likely be a very long time before those outside Trump's base give the GOP another chance.

What color is the sky in your world?

The GOP runs everything.
