That foreign part is going to be Trump's Achilles heel for the rest of his presidency.
What makes you think Trump, or his supporters believe that the FBI director needs to be "loyal" to the president?

Are you basing this on that ridiculous, and completely unfounded claim from the NYT?

How would you know that? Are you a Russian spy with nothing better to do? Sure Comey screwed up but no one believes Trump fired Comey because he mistreated Hillary. That's just way too comical. Obviously, it's three things. Russia, Russia, Russia. In the end, this will backfire on Trump though.

I took an Oath to defend the Constitution of the United States when I joined the US Navy in 1963. I have long since been out of the Navy but that Oath still holds.

I've had folks on this board state that he should've been fired for not being loyal to Trump. Hopefully they are getting a good civics lesson now.

The FBI director needs to follow the Constitution not the President but as we saw with Comey he was playing sides when it came to Hillary and her scandals. There are people sitting in prison right now that did far less then she did and when he recommended that she not be prosecuted that should have been the end of him. Of course we can also blame Obama's DOJ because the FBI chose not to prosecute but the DOJ could have picked up where the FBI dropped off and charged her.

What we saw with Clinton is that there are people who are actually above the law due to influence and friends in high places.
This is exactly what the Founding Fathers were against. Clinton almost became the President due to inside dealings and back door shenanigans.

That is very scary.

I notice you haven't voted yet.

Notice not a single Trump supporter blathering on in this thread is willing to actually go on record and say the Constitution.

Why look! An attempt to derail the thread by bringing up the Clintons! A valiant effort, Todd!

The FBI director should uphold the law, and not be political like the FBI directors normally are.

Comey gave Hillary a free pass, he clearly had no loyalty to the constitution, and upholding the law.

He/I are on topic, we are noting that Comey didn't have any loyalty to the constitution.

Then Trump shoulda canned his butt in January, not wait until it became clear that Comey wasn't gonna kiss Trump's ring.

Your deflection fails.
