Really? What's he done so far other then tell everyone to trust him?

Where's the wall he told you all he's going to build and make Mexico pay for? The only thing I've watched him is make us the laughing stock of the world.

But carry on.

Many years ago, Rush Limbaugh said that it's when the left is OUT of power when they are the most hysterical. He was right then, and he is right today.

And did Obama utilize the same kind of rhetoric and subscribe to the same kind of thinking as those people? To me it's the subscription to this kind of thinking by the actual President that makes it very distinct to me.

I guess I should have been specific - I meant that the two movements "pro-Obama" and "anti-anti-Trump" feel very different to me. There's something larger at play here.
I think that you are right, the fact we have a president who himself is so inflammatory is just gasoline on the fire. But what can you say? All of our presidents before this, no matter how divisive their policies, at least behaved like adults. Trump doesn't, so yes, I think that's a big factor in how the rest of the country reacts to him, both supporters and detractors.

Sure - there is that component there. There are plenty of people that hate Trump regardless of what he would do.
That's what the article failed to point out.... This knife cuts both ways. Shame it didn't point it out, because that revealed the author as not being objectively honest. Would have been a great article had it discussed this as a problem of the current political situation in this country as a whole, rather than just as a problem on the right.

I do wish we could find more common ground, more often. Compromise is a word I haven't heard in politics in a long time. We need to add it to our political vocabulary. That goes for all politicians regardless of political party.
Starts with you and I. Look, me, a Conservative, and you, a Liberal, are having a civil, honest discussion about something. We aren't lying about or impugning each others motives or calling each other names. We aren't spinning facts. Unfortunately, this type of discussion is all too rare, and I don't think compromise, common ground, understanding, or civility are in the offing anytime in the near future.

I know Trump is a megalomaniac but he has earned that right. Clinton was pure evil through and through.

Pretty much.

You want us to welcome Communism with open arms?
If the Communist are bent out of shape in full meltdown, going into hysteria, as they start believing their own lies they have told, we must be doing something right to maintain the free state.

Liberals. Or, more accurately, neoliberals. Men like Paul Ryan want to see everything privatized, institutions be damned if necessary.

Thank you for this great discussion. I agree with your post. It is too bad that this wasn't a higher level discussion about the state of political discourse, in general - but this was just an opinion piece after all.

And I agree civil discussion is too rare these days. And it's unfortunate that there aren't many politicians looking for compromise. I have to believe a majority of Americans want that, and I'd love to support that kind of candidate.

Trump is doing what he told his supporters. Both the Republican party and Democratic party left their purpose. Dems did not care about the working man,and Republicans were spending like democrats. Now we have democrats,Republicans and independents all supporting Trump.

The liberals are now a mixture of globalists, the brainwashed, the communists, socialists and the radicals and get sympathy from the Rino's on occasion.

Americans first, not globalists, not socialists, not special interests, not the swamp of Washington. Americans of every color and Creed are supporting Trump. God Bless America.
