Yes, his appointment of Gorsuch ensures the 2nd will remain an individual right for the foreseeable future and thwarts attacks on free speech and religious freedom.

As far as the criminal justice system it is a mess with regard to sentencing. But most of the criminals arrested and in prison are right where they belong.
You said you object to identity politics and I gave you a reason why it exists- people are absolutely NOT treated equally at all times, especially under the law. You may not personally treat other people unfairly, but plenty of other people do, and the law itself is applied unfairly and discriminatory at times. As long as that is true, identity politics and the "PC" movement will exist. Instead of just being against it, why not take part and help make it better?

There are tons of people in prison for non-violent offenses, like marijuana possession, and black people are disproportionately given prison sentences for them. Is that okay? Is that where those people belong?

Those same straw men are what you hide behind buttercup. Factually incorrect? Nah. Not at all. Just an inconvenient truth you refuse to acknowledge so you discredit everything you disagree with with boo hoo straw man boo hoo disingenuous boo hoo Factually incorrect...

Yeah we see how well that worked for you and your ilk on election day...

The 2nd is under no threat. Didn't you guys learn this after claiming Obama was going to take your guns? There is a difference between a background check and gun-roundup squads.

I'm a realist, so I actually thought Trump would win. Not because he was the better candidate or a great leader, but because history has a way of repeating itself. And because America is not immune to nationalistic populism, regardless of what disgusting orange form it rears up in.

I'd love to hear what straw men you think I'm engaging in, though. It should be good for a laugh.

The strategy against Trump has not changed since day one.

- Make up fake stories about him. From woodwork girls that he "assaulted" to being racist against blacks, to illegally evading taxes, to Russian "influence", to Russian hacking, and now to Russian collusion, it's fake story after fake story.
- Say he has no supporters. Everyone said he had zero support right up until he won the election. They lied about his crowd sizes. They lied about his support numbers. Now they lie and say that his support is at an all-time low, and that all his supporters are gone, and that the only supporters he has are paid Russian spies. All lies, and hard to swallow even for the most deluded people.
- Obstruct him at every turn. The Republicans even did this during the primaries and liberals held meetings on how to prevent him from winning. Now they are doing it through un-elected judges and political tactics.
- If all else fails, subvert Democracy. We saw this when they called for the electoral college to reject Trump. Now they are looking for ways to get him "impeached" and thrown out of office for fake Russian connections.

It's all the same. Not one thing has changed, except that, despite all the anti-Trump people's attempts, Trump is still President and he is still getting things done.

Serious question, do you really believe that Trump is perfect? Not only in personality, but in everything he's ever done, is doing now or will ever do? If not, can you name some things that you personally don't like, find troubling or disagree with?

Most people are like me but the perpetually offended pick a bad apple and throw it in the 24 hour news cycle to whip it up. Just like bad cops. They exist but they are not the norm.

People are not in prison for a piddly marijuana possession of a bag of weed, you go to county jail. If you are in prison for possession it is likely you had paraphernalia and amounts that get you an intention to distribute or distribution sentence. Or you had a weapon along with it. Those people belong there. People don't go to prison for a single non-violent crime unless it is of such a magnitude that it is warranted. So stop with the "poor dude was busted smoking weed" defense.

It's funny how the system can't seem to deal with someone from outside of the normal pool of people, and someone who does things things differently, being President.

Is it really that difficult to believe that there is a significant portion of the population engaging in active discrimination? Was it really that long ago that segregation was widespread? I don't disagree that the majority are decent, but it's not an insignificant minority that we're talking about.

Yes, they most certainly are in prison for possession and other non-violent crimes. A casual google search will confirm that with endless studies on prison populations.
