Quote:
The Democratic governor was asked during a June interview on "Axios on HBO" why San Francisco’s homeless population did not experience a net decline during his tenure as mayor. Newsom said most of the homeless people on the street when he left office were not from California, but added "we took responsibility" for them.

He then made the head-scratching claim about Texas.

"The vast majority (of San Francisco’s homeless people) also come in from — and we know this — from Texas. Just (an) interesting fact," Newsom said.

Politifact rates Newsom’s statement as “Pants on Fire” false ...

I’ll give it an additional rating of:
Brain Dead

Hope a certain poster from Chicago reads this linked article

Wow - what a "trump-ish" statement. (Newsom's, not Tulemutt's)

What a dummy. It was Nevada during his time that was bussing them to SF.

I know where he got his idea. From the Guardian Investigative study / report. But, as identified in the linked OP article, he hilariously failed to logically analyze and assess the bus ticket program criteria or the meaning of findings. Just an amazing brain fart on his part.

Typical. Point fingers at someone or something else instead of addressing the problem.

I don't think the woman who was attacked by a homeless man a couple days ago outside her SF high rise apartment in SF cares where the guy came from. She only wants to feel safe and now she says she doesn't. She's also ticked that a judge would release this crazy guy back on the streets.

Interestingly, she sent a tweet with the attached surveillance video of her attack to the governor, asking him what he's going to do about this. He hasn't responded.

Who cares. Gaffe...whatever. Bigger fish to fry in this country.

I read that Trump has stated that he'd like to open up more facilities for the mentally ill. "I can tell you they closed a lot of them. The people went out, went out onto the streets and it's a terrible thing. The US should start building institutions again. We have to start opening up institutions".

Well there you have it. Sounds alright by me. Might be the only thing I agree with this sociopath about. (Of course I know his workls are absolutely meaningless. So I imagine that we'll all be waiting...waiting...

Gavin's dumb comment is meaningless too. Dumb, but doesn't matter. Like to hear what Trump plans are for this...Homelessness and mental illness isn't a San Francisco specific issue.

Texas. The vast majority of them. I don't think so. Well, it's no big deal he'd make a comment like that, it's not like he's governor of the whole state or something.

I agree with your assessment Genghis. I know the “vast majority” of them are displaced locals.

Btw, did you read the OP link? Should help you understand more the issue of homeless transience you have challenged in the past.

If Politifact looked around a bit, they'd find a rich vein of inanity emerging from the California DNC.
They don't have to pretend to be objective to pointing out this most obvious whopper.
