Pence is probably trying to stay as far away as possible from Trump and I don't blame him.
I don't want Pence either because he will try to bring us back to the 50s.
well let me just say this: if libs don't watch out they are going to be sorry: So far Pence is as clean as the driven snow and could end up the President if Trump gets impeached or resigns. You don't like a conservative, you better stand behind our President.
BTW: you do realize it would take more than a conservative Pres to set us back 60 years don't you and maybe some of the old morals we were raised with should be brought back.
Trump is not an outsider. Just an idiot who had an even less capable staff.
of course he is an outsider; as for his staff or cabinet he has done a pretty damn good job of naming qualified people. If you are talking about before he election, yes, he didn't hire the best of the best, but that is behind us. let's just move on for heavens sake.

No he hasn't. No one in his immediate circle has one ounce of experience in DC and actually, you know, getting things done. Not his golden-boy Kushner, not Miller, not Bannon, not Preibus, not Ivanka.
IF he had hired people who know what they are doing - he might be doing a lot better right now. Add to that staying off of twitter.
Twitter will be his downfall and it's no ones fault but his own.
You can't treat the Presidency like an entry level job at Mcdonalds and expect to succeed.
Pence is the "fair-haired boy" of the GOP religious right, so I believe he is protected. Any Republican that isn't siding with Trump is going to have an agenda that includes seeing Pence move into the Presidential slot to move the agenda of the far religious right ahead. This is NOT a good thing.
I like Pence, even have strong religious beliefs myself, but I support the separation of church and state and believe that the Dems/liberals are "shooting themselves in the foot" by not embracing Trump. Everyone needs to understand how hardcore religious Pence is, and I don't think many get what is happening behind the scenes with the GOP.
So, yes, they are shielding Pence.
The left should have backed off Trump. I really believe there is a large percentage that thinks a democrat will take over if Trump gets the boot or resigns. Totally clueless. Like nominating Hillary going after Trump it will backfire on them in the long run. Their best hope for the future was letting Trump do his thing. He had enough resistance from the GOP in congress and was unlikely to get any of his agenda passed. With Pence it will be different. This will be "what just happened" 2.0. And he gets to nominate whoever he wants as VP. Who might that be? I could see Cruz. First hispanic VP.
