Lieberman emerges as front-runner for FBI post - POLITICO

This is the best choice for any cabinet position or agency head I have heard of in decades.

As a Ct native who is also a stanch supporter of our one true ME friend, Israel, I am ecstatic.

Feels like an odd pick (mainly because I never have associated him with law enforcement or the FBI).

But I've always liked him, so I could support it if it's shown that he's capable of doing the job.

What type of law enforcement back ground does he have?

Mike Rogers is a far better pick.

Fake news. Trump is only allowed to pick David Duke.

Great, another pick who has no experience for the job he's appointed. And what do his views on Israel have to do with domestic law enforcement?

Relatively independent choice.

But going to tick off his base due to his stance on gun control issues.

His longest served position was representing the interests of Israel in the US Senate for 24 years.

FBI needs to be less about law enforcement domestically, more the eyes and ears on internal jihadists schemes.

Dillinger is dead. Local cops catch bank robbers w/o needing the FBI.

Apparently Democrats plan on rejecting him. Too bad. I always liked Joe. Seems like an honorable man and those are hard to come by these days.

A liberal Lieberman, long-time Democratic Senator, is probably close to the last person or type, I would have thought Trump would favor for the FBI job. But his appointment would make about as much sense as any of his other picks for the Cabinet and bureau chiefs. Maybe it's a desperate attempt by Trump, to regain some credibility with democrats and independents. Too little, too late. Hardly necessary to mention that he has no experience for that sort of work and most people think the position should not be given to a politician.
