No yearbook gets published except as has been approved by the school administration. Kids don't collect the money or enters into contracts to get it printed. The school administration does all that. What I suspect happened here is that the school staff that approved it did just that, they approved of the comment and so sent it to the printers, their left wing ideology being sufficiently extreme that the comment didn't seem out of line to them.

This is likely the case. Only four comments were selected for the yearbook. Someone who chose the comments obviously approved.
