There he is, (as Republican as he is,) promoting Hillary's agenda on international scene.
And at the same time Sanders ( a Democrat) didn't have such agenda on his list.
Trump is a president because voters don't want a RINO or a liberal.
Isn't Trump wonderful.!
No, he is not wonderful, he is a POS.
McCain may have views that some do not agree with, but he is a class act and will not get in the gutter with the likes of Trump. When he had a chance to say unfair things about Obama, during the 08 election, he was strong, held his head up, and refused to say things that were not true, just to win points.

What a lot of people do not understand is that politics makes strange alliances. Jimmy Carter was a wonderful person but had terrible judgment on social issues. I like Trump's immigration stand, his business knowledge, his gumption AND positive thinking and willingness to talk to almost anybody.
Sometimes the worst character will make the best decisions for our nation. We need someone that is for the middle class. Our middle class has been stomped on long enough. And about this, yes, Trump is wonderful. That swamp he is dealing with is really murky water though.

McCain is a moderate which is a wonderful thing because he appeals to all. Trump was a democrat but realized he couldn't win as one so he became a conservative. It didn't matter how insulting he was or how he treated others..... you guys just loved him for it. I think he is an embarrassment to our country.
Maybe because Trump - who weaseled his way out of service - belittled McCain military service in combat and the multiple years of torture and imprisonment he experienced as a POW?
Even if you disagree with everything else McCain had said or done, you have to respect that he had balls. Trump never did, and he'll never be the real man of honor and courage McCain has been in his lifetime.
I imagine that McCain, like many Americans, thinks Trump is full of BS. And then there are the unnecessarily demeaning things Trump has said about McCain.
I'm not sure why you think that all Rs could/should like Trump, but the fact is that quite a few don't. Just as quite a few don't like McCain.

This is why I respect John McCain and have no respect for Donald Trump. McCain is a man, Trump is a child.
Trump is not normal and never will be. No one should try to make sense of or normalize his behavior. He is exactly as you describe - a mentally ill man-child with a bottomless pit need for approval. No right, no wrong, no morals - just winning and approval - explained very succinctly, here:
McCain, out of respect for the office of the president, chooses not to call Trump what he is - a fraud and a bounder, completely unfit morally or intellectually for the office he holds.
