Doubtful anyone will be safer, but they might be hungrier!
I didn't see anything concerning cuts in the link. If the proposed budget doesnt come out until tomorrow, how do we know whats in it?

that would be all politicians - especially those who represent democratic states with large military contractors (CA). think they want fewer $$ going into military spending? how'd those politicians get so rich after coming to DC?

If people are concerned these programs are being taken advantage of why not put together a department that investigates that. There are social workers and such, why not have social workers who's job is to check a person's situation and see if they should really quality for government assistance programs in person not just on paper. You'd be creating jobs, and forcing able bodied people back into the workforce.

In parks there are signs saying "do not feed the wildlife" because they will become dependent on it and unable to fend for themselves.. Humans are no different really.

They are great programs for those who are in true need of them and not taking advantage.

He did not. But I guarantee you those unemployed coal miners will be adversely impacted by cuts in food stamps and Medicaid.

You ignore anything that will benefit the poor in a more meaningful way, by getting them OFF welfare and actually WORKING. If they have a job, isn't that much better?

Obama put more people on welfare than any president in recent history, while Republicans have always focused on (and successfully) putting people back to work. Obama ended some of those important programs that successfully cut welfare roles and got people working. (Welfare-to-work).

Working is a good thing!
How do you propose that young children, the elderly, and the disabled work? That represents a vast majority of food stamp recipients. OH, and many in our military qualify for food stamps.

Sad!

Because liberals would fight it as discriminatory when in reality, it's just weeding out the cheaters.

With cuts to the poor, expect crime to increase. When people get hungry, they will steal to eat and feed their kids.

Liberals mean well. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Those who shall not work shall not eat.
How do you find those people in the rust belt and coal mining country jobs, just tell them the don't need to eat.

You are neglecting the impact of automation on the poverty rate, what does the ACA have to do with increased poverty rates.
