I'm sure you could find a civics course you could enroll in, if it'll help.
That the best you can do? The issue of free speech goes beyond government controls. You do not have the right to harass, threaten, punch or otherwise try to intimidate people whose politics you disagree with into shutting up, no matter how strongly you disagree. That's against the law. And no, defining your opponent's speech as "hate" doesn't change that.

I'm sorry, folks. I try to be respectful of people I don't agree with on City-Data. Agree to disagree. But anybody that defends Richard Spencer in any way, I automatically assume they're a terrible person.
No, I don't condone punching him in the face at the gym. But Richard Spencer is not a good person. He is not a kind person. He preaches hate and tries to disguise it at "American pride." He literally has said he wants to "rid" America of all non-whites. With the way he gives speeches all across the country to white nationalists, preaching his hatred nationwide, I would actually consider him a terrorist.

Not only that, but they give people like Spencer MORE power when you do that and make him the victim. You keep his name in the news, keep him relevant, and give him MORE followers and sympathizers.
The fact that I'm actually DEFENDING Spencer in this situation is indicative of the fact that this woman totally dropped the ball here.
But people like OnOurWayHome, continue to yell, and punch your way through everything. Because that's done such a great job so far, hasn't it?
I am confused the lady was the one making the scene . Several patrons yelled at her for making a scene. He didn't have to tell her who he was. I'm confused as to why he was banned.
Banning Spencer constitutes illegal race discrimination. I'd like to see him sue.

Spencer relies on people like you to mix his message with the principle of free speech and the right to not be punched in the face for no reason...as he was earlier this year.
If he got killed tomorrow, who cares.
People who advocate for a second holocaust are open game in my opinion.
