I thought OP was being sarcastic but looks like that is not the case.

It looks more like to me someone says I am going to cut one of your legs as well as one of your hands; then after some thought he says OK it's going to be your leg only and you start celebrating thinking this guy really cares about you

I'm say it's because abuse in the welfare system.

President Trump and/or his administration isn't the first to tackle the gross amount of money put into these areas.
How about we look at the huge subsidies and tax cuts given to big ag and the military contractors and corporations who use loopholes to pay virtually no taxes? There is a whole lot of bloat in the budget but it's not from helping the poor, it's from enriching the already wealthy. And Trump's budget does more of that.

But I'm guessing you don't see anything wrong with those people leeching off the taxpayers, right?

here you go, a left wing rag that says Obama's economy is booming.... Politico - "The president is handing his successor an economy that’s now the envy of the world."
Trump inherits Obama boom - POLITICO

Because disease checks on how the economy's doing before afflicting people, right?

Medicare doesn't pay for long term nursing home care. What do you propose those people do when their benefits are cut and they can no longer afford the homes they are in? Die quickly?

Then WHY isn't the military budget looked at before the cries for MORE! MORE! MORE! ?

Trump simply wants to shift even more welfare away from people who need it and over to people and corporations who are already wealthy.
Those people who need food/healthcare and can work need to get a skill and a job. End of story. The people who truly can't will be taken care of as they always have been.

I don't care to be frank about it. Their families can step up to the plate.

How did people do it before the expansion of Medicaid under Obamacare? They did fine. How do I know? Both of my parents were poor enough to qualify for Medicaid. No they were not dying on the street. All scare mongering.

The $800 billion cut to Medicaid is part of the Trumpcare bill which will cause health insurance premiums for people between 50-64 to skyrocket. Especially those in rural areas. The insurance companies are given far more free reign to discriminate based on age, location, pre-existing conditions etc. It will hit Trump supporters right in the gut. And the 50-64 group might not be "elderly" but they are certainly voting age. And the elderly will be attacked in other ways through other cuts in Trumps budget, including support for old age care based on Medicaid and various safety nets like home heating assistance for the elderly, food assistance for the elderly etc. But the military industrial complex and the donor class have demanded this budget so this is what Trump supporters feel compelled to support regardless of how it affects their friends, family and neighbors.
