This false equivalency bs has to stop. It is part of what is driving it. There are maybe 200 anarchist kids in the east bay who do what you are talking about. They aren't running for congress. They aren't in the administration. On one hand you have a lunatic fringe on the far left that consists of a few hundred people. On the other side you have half the Republican party that seems to have turned authoritarian and has forgotten what it means to live in a free and open society. They get their news from conspiracy websites. Until those of us (left, right and center) who want America to be open and free confront that fact, the authoritarians on the right will keep doing what they are doing, and they will keep using the actions of a handful of anarchists in the Bay Area as a justification to attack the norms of our politics and undermine American liberty as a whole.

We take turns "left" and "right" using government thugs to commit our evil for us against our neighbors. The "left" and "right", "liberal" and "conservative" are two sides of the same evil authoritarian coin. We are a nation of aggression and violence, although we use go(d)vernment guns to do our evil for us, so that we can feel "innocent". We have a "democracy" that "justifies" are evil aggressions by government guns upon our neighbor. We are a nation of thugs and tyrants. Land of the free is free only of true human freedom. We are barbarians killing, enslaving, and exploiting each other with "democracy". There are no "conservatives" espousing the truly libertarian philosophy of our origin, and there certainly are no "liberals" advancing anything but destruction of human freedom by continually growing the menace of government aggression against human freedom.
I hope Gianforte loses bigly for this incident and gets charged with assault... this cannot be the new norm. To attack the media is to attack our 1st Amendment...
