Perhaps President Trump was referring to the atrocities experienced by the Jewish men, women and children in the Nazi Death Camps.

You mean the Mediterranean countries who want to retire at 50, get paid by northern Europe during their siestas and disregard financial rules of the EU when it doesn't suit their blatant corruption? Please.
Southerners and easterners are welcome to leave the EU for all I care.
Or better yet an EU comprised of Nordics, Germany, Austria, France, Netherlands, Holland and that's it, only travel and trade -agreements with most of the others. Keep it clean ffs.

Well, "considered" is a bit of a weasel word, isn't it? Major parts of the free world are now convinced he couldn't lead a six-year-old to Disneyland, and are making arrangements accordingly.

I would say that perhaps he is living in the past, but the Third Reich ended before even HE was born. Maybe he is channeling his Father?

Turkey is a European country, now?

Merkel doesn't have any aircraft carriers or any other way to conduct remote operations. Guess who she will be coming to next? Only 1 guess should be needed.
Nudge my memory - who asked whom for help in Afghanistan?

Trump is considered leader of the free world by trump supporters, in general american presidents tend to be called "leader of the free world" in America and ... well thats about it.

Now since a while back Merkel is being called leader of the free world basically to spite trump...not otherwise.

It's just another sign that nobody has any respect for Trump, they'll deal with him because they have to, but it's not more than that. Not like any president you've had previously regardless of party affiliation.

Merkel is presenting herself in the German Elections coming soon as "the savior of the EU" and also the "Free World" as reported in the German press Der Speigel. They believe that her anti-Trump rhetoric is a Campaign ploy. It's Politics all the time with Career Politicians - always about the next election.

Do the German people really want a break with the USA?
According to a recent PEW poll, German citizens want NATO but German Citizens do NOT want Germany to spend any money on Defense and do NOT want Germany to every defend either Germany or any other NATO ally from an attack ...... that is NATO's Job and the job of the USA.

They are very confused in Germany if they think that Germany can continue to get a free ride and not come to the aid of any other NATO ally. It's their choice and they seem clueless about what is going on in the rest of the world.
