Fraud Yes, Widespread wouldn't know but not knowing who is coming into our country and the tech power and intent of countries and terrorists I wouldn't be surprised if it is.
Regardless, we need to make voting uniform in all states. A hacker could change votes, our voting is paramount in the future of America.
Probably more prevalent in lower level races with fewer votes cast. The fewer votes cast, the more chance any one vote that could be fraudulent is significant.
I believe some (small) amount of voter fraud happens in all American elections. It likely goes to all sides (while I know most Republicans want to assume it's a "lefty" thing, you're being naive if you think there is never any fraud on the other side, too).
I don't believe it has ever has been enough to make any statistical difference to the overall results. I've never seen legitimate proof that it has, either.
Unless we're talking VERY, VERY small races (in which case, the voting fraud is likely being carried out by the candidates themselves)...but I doubt that is what the OP is talking about (it's likely related to Trump's nonsensical tweets about "illegals" voting).
Yes, it happens. Is it statistically significant? No. So far.
And BTW, convincing individual voters to commit voter fraud would be the least effective (and least cost-effective) action I can imagine for swinging an election.
We should be on the alert for it at the level where votes are counted.
Voter fraud is nothing more than a scare tactic the GOP uses in order to justify their voter suppression activities. Without voter suppression they would lose. That was proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in North Carolina.
