If the Russians are such a threat now and weren't then when Obama and Clinton were running the show how did they get so out of hand and become such a threat. If we are to believe what Democrats say about the Russians threatening our democracy than war IS imminent and we need those back channels. Or would you rather lob a few nukes in each direction and take care of it that way.

No deflection just hard cold truth that Liberals refuse to see.
The Russians just want to destabilize our gov. They are doing a fine job. They are pulling the strings using covert and overt actions . It's a lose lose for the us Gov .

Did you also notice how WaPo very carefully covered it azz..."Russia at times feeds false information into communication streams it suspects are monitored as a way of sowing misinformation and confusion among U.S. analysts"

Ya think? Did any of you wonder about that crucial sentence for even one second? I doubt it. You've all convicted and impeached Trump and this dovetails neatly with your anti-Trump fantasies.
What does this have to do with the post you are replying to?

If it was above board - then why lie?
Today's story has nothing to do with the fact that Kushner, Flynn, Manafort, et. al, all seemingly forgot about their meetings with Kislyak. And not to forget that Kushner had a meeting with a bank exec from a sanctioned Russian bank.

Yep. A Trump win or lose, for the price of some hackers they've accomplished what they set out to do.

Come on, if it was disclosed that during the campaign Hillary's closest adviser had approached a Russian diplomat and suggested a secret communication line between her campaign and the Russian Government you wouldn't be calling for her blood?

You know it's really, really embarrassing when it's buried in the Friday newsdump before a 3-day weekend.

A felony punishable by 5 years imprisonment I believe.

Russia is playing America and playing you folks and you believe it because you need to. You people want this to be true SO badly you've turned into complete rubes. Remember how crazy birthers got? That's the left today. Putin must be loving the gullibility of Democrats.
You folks love the headline...but you ignore the rest

Let's face it. The great American democratic experiment of 240 years is now run as a Trump family business. I expect the FBI to demand access to the Trump Organization's tax returns very shorty.

Yup. Trump and his family did it, so it's all good. But if it were Hilary/Obama, either of them would be Inmate #968831 already.

Here's a thought exercise for Trump denialists from "today's" Washington Post:

"Huma Abedin and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Hillary Clinton's transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.

Ambassador Sergey Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Abedin, trusted aide to then-President-elect Clinton, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Clinton's headquarters, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials."
