This. The machines are coming. They are not here yet.

I am sure you will be happy to hear this, Zuckerberg is strongly considering getting into politics and I believe he specifically mentioned the Presidency. Although at this moment it is nothing serious, sleep well knowing that if he ran on a Democratic platform he could have an Obama like effect, bring out many young first time voters.

For those who think this topic is silly because there is always new opportunities that arises after each major technological advancement, we are not just talking about machines here. We are talking about machines that can repair themselves, that can make other machines, that can think, hell they can even create art.

Here's a radical solution. If you can't do more for yourself than MW jobs and just don't have the capacity to be a contributing member of society, just eat a bullet. Everyone is better off.

20%? It is at least 25% overall (actual, not UE6) but that 25% is disproportionately affecting the population. Some demographics have almost unmeasurably low ~3% unemployment, while others are experiencing near 50% levels. So, it is closer than you think. Or should be.

Not at all radical when posted under cover of anonymity. And, people are, in fact, eating bullets, OD'ing on Fentanyl, and jumping off bridges at 50 or more a day, and it doesn't seem to be making everyone else any better off. Got any better ideas?

Oh, the irony... ...btw... Steve Jobs is deceased. At least leave him out of your delusions, out of respect for the dead.

Ah yes. An entire populace lounging on the sofa with a bag of Doritos, playing video games and dinking with the smartphone. Nirvana.

I would really love to see someone who is very technology minded to take the presidential office. The problem is they're all too smart and know better.

Trump has brought on tech leaders as advisors .
Elon Musk and the Uber CEO are two of them .
Unfortunately liberals pressured the Uber CEO to stop working with Trump and he gave in to the pressure .

Last I heard Musk is still advising him .

There is even a liberal in Silicoln Valley spending millions to try to get Musk to stop working with Trump .

It's too bad they would put politics over country .

Even if you didn't vote for Trump why wouldn't you want smart and successful people working to help the country be more innovative?

Also Peter Thiel of course is a legend in the tech world , and a supporter of Trump . But sadly the lefties in the Bay Area attacked him harshly too.
