In Obama's 1st hundred days, we was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize but for what? He has done less than Trump has done so far. Trump has had a huge effects on illegal immigration already. Why did they reward Obama with the award for doing nothing?
Europeans especially in the west had a huge hard on for Obama after he became POTUS. The first African-American man to become POTUS and so forth cemented in their minds an ideal that was a 180 degree turn around from the near racist (to their minds) conservative presidency of GWBII.
You may recall Obama did a "tour" of Europe before the election and even winning the WH to "introduce" himself to Europe; and the Europeans loved it.
To put this all in perspective you must understand how unpopular the invasion of/Iraq war was with most Europeans including the British. Being GWB's "poodle" got Tony Blair chucked out of office.
While not as frequently heard today the phrase "ugly American" still rings true to a good number of Europeans. Outside of those from say certain areas of the northeast or west coast sizable population of Europe considers Americans Philistines at best, and overweight, uncouth, racist bigots at worse.

It proved how worthless and politically biased the Nobel Peace Prize has become.
[Captain Obvious Flag on]
The same anonymous benefactor that bought his political offices paid for his igNobel prize.
That's delusional. The Nobel prize has only one benefactor- the Nobel estate. As long as Nobel's patent is used, part of the royalties that go to the estate continually fund the prize. The guy's been dead for 121 years.
The members of the Nobel committee is a closely held secret, and so is their selection.
Each prize has its own committee, and since no one knows who they are, the members could be different every year that prize is rewarded for all we know.

They now regret giving Obama the 2009 peace prize for very little, then again why did the EU win the peace prize in 2012, when it is NATO that has really kept the peace and not the EU.
I doubt that anyone who sits on the Nobel Committee participates in c-d, so I'm not sure why you're asking here.
At the time, it seemed to many, including me, that the committee was just thrilled to death that W was no longer president.
I like Obama, but this seemed a bit over the top to me. I think it did to him too, as he immediately gave the money away and has never given the slightest indication since that he wants anyone to make a big deal out of it.
He thinks the Muslim Clock Boy invented . . . the clock.

Obama was given the NPP upon taking office because he had no qualification to be president and before he could do any damage, they figured to give him the NPP as a contingency award he could take with him, no matter how bad he was.
You'd think that the prize would be taken back after obama funded the greatest sponsor of terrorism with 150 billion dollars.
Up to that point, it was not a NPP recall issue, just a cruel joke, like giving a crown and scepter to the hunchback of notre dame.
I think it was a joke when they named it a peace prize after someone who invented dynamite.
Is this post meant to be a joke?
Wow, talk about some true ignorance.
