Trump had an opportunity to show the world that Americans defend Muslims and praise the two men who died defending women being attacked by a bigot. Especially on the heels of returning from Saudi Arabia. He blew it. Why wouldn't he have done it upon hearing it ?

Yes, but if a Muslim had killed two American men coming to the aid of a Christian woman being berated he would have tweeted something, for damn sure. You know it.
A Muslim man not yet identified, first confronted Jeremy Christian to defend Islam and pulled a knife and punched him in the face with the other hand......
It is a popular idea that a man is a hero just because he was killed in action. Rather, I think, a man is frequently a fool when he gets killed.

He doesnt have to take credit for them. But we shouldnt deny that some of his rhetoric is supportive of their ideals.
Bernie less so, but they still followed him(again, just pointing out that i said they supported Bernie way back in the primaries and that was part of the reason he had a black voter problem)
