Phoenix is a RECENTLY turned democrat city. The reason is because of all the people fleeing California and the influx of illegal aliens. I should know, i live in Phoenix

In time the Electoral College will tilt more and more to the Red states, since so many productive people are fleeing the blue ones!

Barely, will be blue soon. And, the growth that I mentioned is in the city of Phoenix proper, not the burbs. They are growing too.

There have been studies after studies on this, it's because:

1. People want to move to a lower cost state, mostly red states. Many red states have lower COL compare to blue states.

2. Destruction of housing - in Chicago many people would buy a two-flats or even three-flats and combine them to make one big single family homes. A building that was used to house two to three families now house just one. People do this because blue states are getting richer. The wealth in cities like Chicago is reducing the supply of housing, thus driving some people away.

3. It is a correction of the racist urban policy of past era - decades ago, black families could not buy homes or rent homes in many cities/neighborhoods, so they were forced to cluster into a few black neighborhoods, which took on way too many residents than the land should allow. As this situation slowly unwinds, many Blacks are rightly moving away from these clusters.

4. Blue states are becoming more high tech and less blue collar, so many of these workers have no choice but to leave a blue state to seek employment in states with more blue collar jobs, mostly red states.

5. In Chicago, it's mostly low income Blacks who are moving away; while more Whites, Lations, and Asians are moving in.

.

I get so tired of hearing "Chicago is a warzone". Most of the people who say that don't even live here, nor have they ever visited. I had some preconceived notions about Chicago before I even visited. Once I came for a visit, my entire attitude changed.

I just got back from a 10mi bike ride. I didn't hear and gunshots, bombs, or artillery fire. I just saw other people cycling and jogging. Some parts of town are VERY bad, but no one goes there unless it's for a specific purpose.

But the politics here do suck. The same people keep voting for the same democrats who caused the financial crisis we are in.

Question for ya: Since you believe there is a correlation between which Political Party runs a city and the crime rate, tell us what you would want to do as a Republican that would resolve the problem? Heck if you have a good answer you could be elected as Mayor to one of those Big Cities and make buckets full of money while solving the problem. So what would you do?
