Texas Lawmakers Trade Assault Allegations After One Calls ICE On Protesters : The Two-Way : NPR

GOP State Rep. Matt Rinaldi says he called Immigration and Customs Enforcement on the protesters, several of whom carried signs proclaiming "I am illegal and here to stay."

"He came up to us and said, 'I'm glad I just called ICE to have all these people deported,'" state Rep. César Blanco said at a news conference after the incident, according to the Tribune. State Rep. Ramon Romero recalls blunter language: "He said, 'I called ICE — f*** them.' "

At this point, Rinaldi says that Romero "physically assaulted" him, and that another Democratic lawmaker, Poncho Nevarez, threatened to "get" Rinaldi on his way to his car."

Go figure! Two politicians with a Hispanic surname.

Illegals have been known to be in your face with it all the time. It's common knowledge. They never feared deportation until Trump. They and their blind supporters are the fools, idiots and dunces not Americans who can see how brazen these illegals can be.

You don't see Illegals hanging out at Home Depot parking lots here, anymore.
It was so bad a few years ago, if you had something in the back of your P/U truck, it was gone when you came back from inside Home Depot.
If construction wages keep going up, an American citizen might even be able to raise a family as a carpenter, plumber, or construction worker, again.

Not from my experience.

Okay -- somebody has to say it.

If wages creep up -- what else creeps up -- think about it -- just for a second....

THE PRICE OF THE HOUSE.......ohhhhh.

So you hope wages don't go up so high that then folks are priced out of markets.

The fact you didn't even include that potential scenario in your little -- oh yeah hard working Americans can make money because wages will be higher without realizing what that means to the final cost of goods...is one again disturbing.

It's funny to me that the people in this thread complain about illegal immigration and two or three posts later complain about the cost of construction rising.

You don't think some of these GOP congressmen are looking the other way when they get calls from their farmer constituents complaining about what you just described?
First of all, it's silly for you to claim farmers are somehow usually Constitutional conservatives.

It's the lib'tards who WANT illegal immigration, they want open borders, sanctuary cities, etc....

The farmer, like other business owners, are stuck with a flawed and not particularly useful migrant worker immigration system, and are forced to deal with it since our politicians refuse to fix it..

We have corrupt politicians who either want illegal immigration, or refuse to do anything because their political opponents will demonize them if they speak out against it, and propose any fixes.

That was ignorant.

So, we are not supposed to enforce our immigration laws, because it will drive some wages up?

This is like a flash from the past. It's the same argument Democrats were making in the 1800s, slave labor is cheap, so they opposed the elimination of slavery in the USA.

Yep, equating housing going up to "who will pick the cotton?" Businesses that can't run without doing it legally should fail.
