Im not the mayor. Otherwise, hell yea. They would never get a permit. Actually, since they are white terrorists/terrorist sympathizers, they should be classified as enemy combatants and thrown in Gitmo.

I agree. The permit thing is a sham. You have a constitutional right to protest.
I can sympathize with this sentiment. But I also can see the rationale for a permit. It helps to know from a city support services arena what may be happening in one's city. It can help prevent two groups from trying to use the same space at the same time. It should be, though, an automatic shall issue as long as the space is available.
Actually, I'm looking forward to June 4th...I plan to pop a beer..make some guac...and watch as two groups, both of whom I despise..beat the dog ***** out of each other--it doesn't get any better than that!

I can see how this will play out, the Right will have their rally which will be met with violence from the Left and the defenders of the Left will say that they were provoked by hate speech and Trumps message.

If they just let the rally happen then not that many people would hear about it but now that they are making a stink and trying to stop it it is national news.

The ONLY "free speech" that Leftists support is their speech - anyone who disagrees with their speech must be stopped at all cost ....... including whatever Violence is necessary.
"Hate speech" is the Left's dishonest term for dissent, i.e., speaking truth to power. Nothing is more squarely within the concept of "free speech" than dissident speech. In fact, that's the only type of speech that the concept of "free speech" could ever possibly apply to.
The mayor of Portland needs to spend more time getting rid of Antifa rather than suppressing peaceful rallies because they voice opinions that disagree with him. He cares more about suppressing free speech than he does about stopping the rampant violence caused by leftist domestic terrorists.

Funny when the blacks in Democratically controlled cities like St. Louis and Baltimore "exercised" their right to free speech in the forms of riots those mayors said ah let em' be they are just blowing off steam. The left is scary hysterical.
