It's messed up both ways.

To a normal forty year old fifteen is a child. If I meet an attractive mature-acting fifteen year old boy I'm impressed but not thinking of him as a peer or mate- at most would want to fix him up with a nice teenage girl I know. A teenage boy might have fun with an older woman but then finds a peer for a serious relationship. Macron must be damaged, stuck emotionally at the age his teacher got to him, just like Vili.

You're right, it's a little outside the customary pattern. What I find interesting about it is that it comes at a time when there is an American president who is marrying progressively younger women, and obviously chose them only for their looks.
