I've always found this article/photo essay on race fascinating:

So while it might sound very progressive or "open-minded" to say you support it, most would not want their own kids marrying outside of their race.
I don't think a majority feel that way anymore. I was dating outside my race a hundred years ago when I was young and it was difficult to do. These days, nobody I know, at least, cares.

If my kids brought home someone from another race or of the same sex, that would be fine with me.

I think realistically speaking, most people are indifferent.

Preference? I am not sure if most people prefer to date their own race, but I won't be surprised if they have such a preference, I certainly don't think it is bad. People who prefer to date their own races are not necessarily racists. Preference is just that, preference. Just like interracial dating or marriage, it is neither good nor bad.

LOL just like marriage, it is just not for everybody. I think people (some at least) like to make it a political issue. (the white genocide crowd for example) Nobody wants to kill you or exterminate your race, relax already. Can you really force somebody to mate with the people they hate? come on now.

The attractive and successful white, Asian, black, Hispanic, whatever ladies and men never whine about people dating outside their races. Want to know why?

I'm not sure why I - or anyone - should follow your order.

I agree and would add that interracial couples are not more "progressive" than same-race couples.

I used to have my hair cut by a black woman, pretty conservative (a jehovah's witness). The pictures of her extended interracial family were amazing, and shot down forever any idea I might have had that interracial couples are inherently politically liberal.

I meant "progressive" in the sense that many people today act like interracial marriages are saving the world as if there was something inherently better or virtuous about two people of different races coming together - diversity for the sake of diversity.

It's not. There's nothing special about interracial marriage. A couple is just a couple.
