A Canadian elementary school reportedly allowed one of the country’s most notorious criminals to interact with young students.
Parents at the school told Canada’s CityNews earlier this week that Karla Homolka, who served time for her role in the rape and murder of two young schoolgirls, has been volunteering at a private, Seventh-day Adventist elementary school.
I would have a problem with that if I were a parent.
But since it's a private school, they can let whoever come in. This would never fly in a public school here in the USA.
Don't kid yourself, there are a lot of people right now working in the schools who have questionable motives. You can screen and screen again, and some are bound to sneak by.
'screening and vetting' employees only catches those who have been caught before too, no way to identify or catch someone who has never been caught or convicted!! That is a pretty serious flaw imo!
Look it up on the Internet (especially the Reddit Ex-Seventh Day Adventist websites)...perverts in SDA schools (especially boarding schools, where they send the high school students) abound. They'll believe the Elder, Pastor, or teachers above the kids...the kids are lying, or it is somehow "their" fault for dressing or acting provocatively so that Satan controls the predator. DH (a former SDA) went to one of those "academies" for three years, and told me the stuff that went on.
He and his siblings were sent to those schools to protect them from the Satan influenced public schools, BTW.
And SDA schools (according to DH) don't do that great a job vetting their staff. The little two-room SDA elementary schools he attended growing up couldn't afford to, and if you were an SDA, you were hired no questions asked.
