Reached out to a few "plastic Paddy" friends with the news (had to rub their noses in it. *LOL*). Suffice to say no, not everyone is happy and there is much wailing and moaning about how Ireland is swirling down the pan.
If the dude is competent and can get the job done, then fine. I have no problem with gays and non-whites in those kinds of positions.
A person should get the job as long as they can get it done and make it happen. I don't care about all of the other stuff as long as they are making it happen
good- now the american irish can chew on that for awhile- The ones I met here, forgot their homeland--- and how they suffered bias--
The past is the past and, most people of Irish family have given up the "pitty party" about Oliver Cromwell, Redlegs in Barbados, "No Irish Need Apply" and so on in 2017.
Too; Ireland's new leader IS "Irish" but, happens to have an Indian father. Hell, if talking "race", the dude could be mostly "white" if talking DNA. lol
I think the "whoopty do" is that he got to do it because he was qualified, whereas you can be qualified here and still not get the opportunities bc of your sex, race, orientation, etc.
Yeah, just like Harvard. A white person has to have a higher GPA than a black student to get in, and Asian has to have an even higher GPA average than the white person...... And this is the school run by liberals.
That said, he definitely looks white to me, even if he's half Indian. His father must be northern Indian.
