Disability is easier to abuse in lower cost of living areas. That's why people that want to abuse it will migrate towards small cities, certain suburbs or exurbs on the outer rim of metros, and rural areas.

As far as raw numbers goes though there's a ton of people abusing it in inner cities but their money doesn't go as far naturally due to the higher c.o.l.

People that work the system figure out how to get the best bang for their back and since they don't care about working, job opportunities don't matter. So they don't have to factor that into the equation.

So much outrage over one poor family on disability. Little outrage over $700 billion in bank bailouts.

'Murica.

It's always wonderful to hear about these success stories. And the truth is that self-sacrifice and determination really are the tools to success. It doesn't come naturally for many. They literally need to be taught.

Ok, so they are voting against disability benefits. Politically, they are on your side. Problem is solved from your perspective.

Get rid of disability benefits then. Republicans control all 3 branches of the government. No excuses.

I will say that stories like these and seeing people like this in DC where I lived most of my youth really turned me very right wing, the welfare state is vile.

The welfare state encourages crime, is terrible for children, seems to foment child and animal abuse, out of wedlock births , child sex abuse, poverty , etc. You can make more money having a child out of wedlock or getting on some form of welfare and disability than you can working in many jobs!

But I will say this voting republican really doesnt matter. The republicans are no better than the democrats, they have just maintained the welfare state, they certainly havent done much to reform it or end it.

We need a real multiparty system like almost the whole first world has, the two parties are just corrupt to their core.

You simply can't "reform" this "welfare state" already. The train is gone.
The gap between the haves and have nots is so huge by now, and the cost of living is so high, that you'd have to work these people to death for them to be able to support themselves, and then some more. Besides, in this ever-growing "competitive environment" - when the employers are so demanding in how they want job to be done - what kind of "quality" this type of people can offer to their perspective employers? ( Or to their perspective customers for this matter)?
Or if you still insist that this type of "unfit for perfect society" people should get the permission to procreate, then on what ground, and who is going to be a judge?

There's not enough popular support in high populated cities for welfare and disability reform so it would be political suicide for them to try and do so.
