There are scams all the time. You can't stop stupid people though

Always ALWAYS meet strangers in public well-lit places with plenty of foot traffic. And I don't care how nice they seem, NEVER get into a first date's car.

If this sounds obvious, I'm glad, because it means you'll be much likelier to stay safe. Unfortunately, most of my friends are very careless with things like this, hopping into stranger's cars on the first date willy nilly, without a care in the world.
