I have never voted for Sadiq Khan and I can't say he would have been my choice as London Mayor, but he has the job at the moment and that needs to be respected.
Khan does have a history and baggage for instance as a Human Rights Lawyer Khan took the case of the US Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan, a man who describes white people as devils and who is full of religous htred and bigotry. Indeed Khan managed to get a trave ban imposed by the Home Office overturned.
Sadiq Khan also famously once described moderate Muslims as 'Uncle' Toms in an interview with Iranian Television and there were some links to certain preachers and Islamic Groups, which Khan has now tried to distance himself from. Sadiq Khan even criticised Labour’s decision to suspend Ken Livingstone in 2006 when he compared a Jewish
Evening Standard journalist to a Nazi concentration camp guard.
Khan was also closely associated with South London cleric, Suliman Gani, who allegedly “supports IS [Islamic State]” and it was claimed that Khan and Gani shared platforms at least nine times and that Gani appeared at an event in Bedford last November, on the night of the a terror attackin Paris, where speakers called on British Muslims to struggle for an Islamic state. Gani opposes homosexuality and believes women should be subservient to men.
Whilst Khan's former brother-in -law Makbool Javaid was married to Saqiq's sister Farhat Khan until 2011. In the Nineties Makbool Javaid even took part in events in London with the extremist group Al-Muhajiroun .

So Iam no avid supporter of Khans and as soon as he is replaced the better, however this pathetic tweeting isn't going to do anyone any good, and risks straining relations between to good allies.
