Europe has been invaded my Islam so allowing more from Europe is a loser.
Thank Ted Kennedy for the 1965 act, another mindless liberal idea.

In nearly every western European country populations are declining (well of whites anyway), and have been for two decades or more. In the east things are slightly better, but still.

Long story short European nations no longer have vast surplus populations that fueled immigration to the new worlds of North America, Australia, New Zealand, etc...

One reason is clear and common; European women by and large aren't interested in having large families any longer. Thanks to legal (or at least available) birth control and or abortion (ditto) they don't have to. In nearly every western European nation you see pretty much the same as large parts of the USA; white educated women marry later in life and or have only on average 1-3 children with the usual number being just the one.

The last big immigration push from Europe to USA and elsewhere came in the aftermath of WWII through the early 1960's. Those years saw many persons on the move for a variety of reasons. Given the carnage most of Europe suffered I shouldn't wonder why many who could, up and left.

Then you have the no so small issue that the USA doesn't truly need more immigration of unskilled/lower educated and so forth persons, regardless of them being Europeans, Latin Americans, Asians, etc....

Any repeal of the "Kennedy immigration" laws that favors saying allowing large numbers of white uneducated and or unskilled persons would likely be called out for what it is by the huge Latino-Hispanic, Asian and other minority populations of this country.

Presuming the whole point of this hypothetical exercise is to make the USA a "white man's country" again; well you can forget it, that ship has sailed.

One reason why the Kennedy bill "changed America" is that Latinos-Hispanics, Asians, Africans, and other minorities did in large numbers what white immigrants who became citizens did not; sponsor their children, siblings, parents and other family members to come to the USA. Soon as those persons could do so legally they did the same. Meanwhile on the home front as mentioned whites were already having fewer children. The loss of "fresh blood" from UK, Germany, Ireland, Italy, etc... just piled on.

And your solution is to do what, give up?

Actually, just the opposite.

"For Latinos, by contrast, Hart-Celler made the U.S. less accessible. Before 1965, immigration from Mexico and other Latin American countries was largely unrestricted. It was Hart-Celler that brought Latino immigration from the Western Hemisphere under numerical limit for the first time."

The law that created illegal immigration - LA Times

It did allow Asian, Middle Eastern, and African immigration, though.

Regardless a repeal would not get through Congress and even if it did Trump would veto it. Stopping illegal immigration is widely popular, but cutting legal immigration not so much.

So, what's the problem? You opposed to brown people immigrating here LEGALLY?

I thought the problem was ILEGAL immigration.

And there is no such thing as "an unlimited amount" of legal immigrants.

What's next for you? Banning interracial marriage and bringing back Jim Crow?

Agriculture is taking a major hit with the crack down on undocumented/illegal immigrants. More than half of the workers on farms in this country are undocumented immigrants and nobody else wants the jobs.

Farmers don't need to use illegals. There is an agricultural guest worker visa program that has no caps on it. Honest farmers that use the visa, have no problems getting their crops picked. It's the sleazy farmers who refuse to use the visa and instead opt for cheap, illegal, exploitable labor that have problems. When there is a crackdown on illegals, the sleazy farmers take a hit. I have no sympathy for them, they are reaping what they've sown.

It's not about skin color. It's about diversity in our legal immigration numbers and from people who will assimilate into our society and not be a burden to us. Too much immigration both legal and illegal especially from one national or ethnic groups does change the demographics and identifying culture of any country. Why would any country desire that?
