Islam is very loving - toward Muslims.
Kafirs (infidels) - well, that's totally different.
1400 years of conquest, murder, mayhem, rape, kidnapping and other abominations cannot be erased by propaganda.
Well, I have to say that I know absolutely nothing about Islam as a religion, but in my humble opinion, religion is supposed to give you peace, in whatever departments you're lacking in.
This being said, it basically depends on how you grow up in respect to the teachings and how the teachings are interpreted by you.
Historically, hardly any religion had a peaceful start. Islam started on wars so did Christianity. Religion has always blocked progress and punished challengers Christianity's days of beheading and crucifying are behind us. (for the most part.) Islam however is still prevalent.
So in a way, I agree with him. But it doesn't really solve any problems.

If you haven't read the Koran, you really shouldn't speak to it bringing anyone peace. That's not what it's about. Its about behavior, it's about laws, It's about conquest. These were not the tales of persecuted people fighting back. Muhammad made his living as a warlord marauder stealing, killing, and raping that which belonged to the infidels. That's it. He wasn't a carpenter, a priest, a teacher.
When all religion is only for Allah, then there will be peace.
Read the books. Koran, Hadith, its all right there.

Not surprised to see so many heads explode when he mentions the word "love". Too many people were brought up to hate.
No ones head is exploding because Stevie said love. I love Stevie. Love for our own community is important. Hatred helps no one. What must be done does not include hatred. It should be done logically to remove the threat. No hatred required, but action must be taken.

That's the root of the problem, Lily. Most people assume, just like you did, that Islam is like the other religions. It's not. It's an authoritarian form of government and ideology that has no place in western democracy. I think that's why the younger, second generation Muslims are joining ISIS.
They don't fit in. Their entire dogma is contrary to what they see around them. Particularly where it comes to women. Seeing western women walking around doing whatever they want is an insult to Allah. All these infidels thinking they can just flaunt the laws of Sharia, etc. The fundamentals of the religion just don't work in western culture.
Most Muslims get along great with everybody. That's because they aren't fundamentalists, that is, they aren't very good Muslims.( they just aren't particularly religious )
