President Donald Trump is by no means popular—compared with his predecessors his approval rating has been remarkably low his entire tenure in the White House. But there's some small solace this week: Trump's approval rating is, at least for the moment, a hair better then where former President Bill Clinton stood at the same point in his first term.
I remember Clinton having serious problems getting is presidency started. The whole "Don't ask; don't tell" issue didn't help. I'm not sure if Hillary's health care overhaul was in play at this point, but I bet it was. There was serious doubt Clinton would get reelected. But, really, there was doubt his administration would get a doggone thing done. Seems like the Obama administration struggled to get out of the gate as well. I think Trump is an entirely different animal, but it would do well to remember that past presidents had tough first years, too. Clinton and Obama, of course, were both reelected.

Dude, you have to look at the full picture. This is from the article you quoted.
Quote:
Trump's disapproval rating in the survey was far higher, however, outpacing Clinton—57 percent to 49 percent—in the undesirable measurement.
A lot of people were neutral to Clinton, they neither approve nor disapprove.
But A LOT of people flat out disapproved of Trump.
Those two scenarios are VERY different. It's much easier to win over the neutrals than folks who just plain disapprove. So Clinton managed to become very popular, the same probably not possible for Trump.

So the media wants us to believe. The only polls I begin to trust are Rasmussen's polls. Trump's favorability is always higher than the mainstream media polls, which are massaged and tampered with to get desired results.

Even Rasmussen can't doctor Trumps poll number enough to make him look good. He's not been "above water" in a Rasmussen poll since February. The latest Rasmussen poll has him down by 8 (46% to 54%)
The latest FOX News poll has Trump down by 13% (40% to 53%).
