With that said, I've noticed a glaring elephant-in-the-room regarding the whole left vs right "eternal struggle"/debate:

All the real innovation, progress, hi-tech, etc comes almost EXCLUSIVELY from the ranks of the Left or Liberal states.

Meanwhile the right-wing areas/states are generally full of lower-IQ and lack of innovation or hi-tech, full of run-down meth trailers and people milking welfare and disability. Right-wing areas tend to be "backwards" in comparison in terms of tech/innovation, and you almost NEVER hear of a hi-tech Bill Gates type coming from the Republican ranks. Even Einstein and Nikola Tesla were both liberal in their political views, so this pattern is not new at all historically.

Facebook? Google? Amazon? Microsoft? Tesla? Space-X? etc? All on the Left or Liberal-leaning.
I just can't help but notice that none of the great innovators or "shakers" in hi-tech are Republican.

And so we have a situation where the technologically advanced and wealthy/affluent Left is forced to subsidize and "carry" the dead weight of the backwards and technologically-behind Republican parts of the country. It's quite the sight seeing all this vast wealth/tax money being squandered away on meth-heads, trashy single moms, welfare types, run-down towns, etc instead of funding the future of humanity and taking our human civilization into space. It all seems like such a waste

It's taboo to talk about this, but it is true
Even if you look up which states pay in the most in taxes you find it is actually the Liberal states at the top, disproving the claim that Republicans pay more in taxes.
It's an interesting observation. I can't help wondering if it's part of the whole "left brain-right brain" thing where people who are more creative also see the world in a more liberal way. However, I don't think the red states have a monopoly on welfare cheats, disability cheats, trashy single moms or run down towns. You have obviously never spent much time in California. The good news is that the majority of men & women fighting around the world to protect your right to express your views are Republican.

I've been around the internet a long time. You'll have to troll better than this.

Captain Obvious points out - you can't tax something that isn't there.
Socialism did not "create" high tech - it fed upon it (and helped destroy quite a bit of it).

High tech and (former) industries were often located along waterways and other transportation corridors.
Even before socialist taxes, certain areas were more developed than others.
[NYC - Hudson River - Erie Canal; Chicago - Great Lakes - Mississippi River; New Orleans - Mississippi River; Pittsburgh - Ohio River; San Francisco, and other west coast ports]

I notice you did not provide any rebuttal or counter-argument, just avoided the issue altogether.
You are correct. Democrats want to look towards the future which is advanced technology and renewable energy. Republicans, lead by Trump want to remain in the past. I guess they are afraid of what the future holds so they cling to what they know.

Studies have shown that creative types generally ARE more liberal. That's nothing new.

The rest of his post is ridiculous, however.

UbbyJuice, way to lose all credibility with fewer than 50 posts under your belt.

Creative types have always been liberal, just like the OP said. But they are not usually very practical. Like Obama. Hillary. LBJ. Ralph Nader. Bernie Sanders. All those loud-mouth Hollywood types.

*Tesla and Space - X are a good examples. They are wonderfully creative, but absolutely dependent on government subsidies. Perhaps THAT is the true genius of their business, because without sucking on the government teat they would not exist.

*Tesla died broke. Was that "smart"?

*John D Rockefeller, a conservative Bible thumper, has a legacy that speaks for itself.

*So does Andrew Carnegie.

*And Warren Buffet didn't come from either coast - he lives among the "trailer trash".

*Liberals have a lock on success and brains?.......... Tell that to Charles and David Koch.

* Does anyone remember where WalMart was started and by whom?

The OP has no points at all, except those he selects from among the millions available to him.

FAIL!

When we join we have to start somewhere whether we join a thread or start a new one. When I first started posting here I remember getting backlash because I was new. Is someone who has 50 posts not allowed to start a thread. Stop being a bully. It's unbecoming.

Oh, please. Everyone is new at one point. Few get backlash.

It's okay to get in the sandbox as the new kid on the block and kick sand in half the kids faces, but doing so under the guise of being independent is going to elicit flack.

Are you kidding me. We all do. You're lucky if you didn't.

It's a ridiculous thread. Our defense industry, which is the most technologically advanced in the world was created by overwhelmingly, conservative Scientist and Engineers. Try defending the country without us
