"So using these top positions to achieve reductions in the size of the bureaucracy, as Trump seems to suggest is his rationale, is a pretty classic unforced error. It’s like trying to reduce overcrowding in schools by firing most of the teachers."
You know what you call someone who blames others for his own failures?
LOSER!
He has a serious personality disorder. Even Joe on Morning Joe who used to be a big supporter says the man is not mentally well and anyone else behaving like this would be removed from their job.
Only three Ambassadors nominated -- two of which were nominated last week.
I seem to be repeating myself constantly but does he not realize we can check all this stuff and find out the truth or is he so messed up in the head he thinks this is the truth. It's disturbing.

Agree it's disturbing & problematic for the US & the American people.
An underlying or at root cause is listening to & being hammered by largely Libertarian 'un-think tanks' for 3 or 4 decades.
Listening to & being hammered by a distillation of a worldview that shuns complexity in all forms. A woefully incomplete ideological spin that equates managing, in Mr. Trump's case, a family boutique business composed of limited-liability 'shell' corporations, to managing a functioning democracy-republic based on well-tested Constitutional principles.

Agree his approach is nonsensical, from that piece:
Quote:
...“Do they affect the operation of government? The short answer is very much,” Reeher said. “These are the folks who actually attempt to implement the policy changes that the administration is trying to push down from above.”
Reeher said the relationships between politically appointed officials in top positions and the career bureaucrats who make up the rest of the federal government are “critical” for ensuring policies get put in place smoothly. ...
Apparently, the only folks who could conceivably make sense out of this nonsense, are those who desire 'drowning government in a bath tub' rather than attempting to improve governance. Or those (Mr. Bannon) who desire destruction over creating improvements, as in his objective to 'deconstruct the administrative state'.
Trump is never at fault. Even when he drove his company into bankruptcy, several times over, it was never his fault. He has no spine. He's weak and afraid of everything.
I had a boss who told me a story about two guys on his crew, Joe and Eddy. He had partnered them up to do a job. Every time there was a problem, Joe blamed Eddy. One day the boss walks up to Joe and fires him. Joe says, "Why are you firing me? Eddy is the one always screwing up!" The boss said, "If Eddy is the only one screwing up, he must be doing all the work."
Many are turning down the opportunity to be involved with Trump's administration.
Can they just not find anybody, or are they not looking?
Maybe they should have been getting this organized during the transition instead of chatting up the Russians.
When you have a President who only works 5 days a week, and who golfs every weekend, this is what you get. Trump is the man who berated Obama for golfing, but Obama got his job done.
Why are all these posts vacant, is it common practice to carry over the same people from the previous administration until the new staff is chosen?
Cabinet and ambassadors would be the first positions filled and then the all the others.
If Trump had a functional administration they would advise him on these positions to be filled but they are too dysfunctional and don't have unified vision of government.

To be honest, I don't believe that Trump would actually listen to a functional administration if it disagreed with him or opposed what he wants. It's his way or the highway, and he's off the tracks a lot lately.
