What do you think about emotional support animals being allowed on airplanes?
Personally, I think its a bunch of bull crap to allow such a thing. Riding on an airplane is already stressful and cramped. Allowing people to bring their untrained animals to sit next to other passengers is just wrong.
Doesn't everybody have pets that support them emotionally? I mean, you don't have an animal because it causes you grief...you have them because they make you feel good.
I'm getting totally fed up about this. Even pets in supermarkets.
I'm particularly bothered in terms of airplanes because it doesn't take into account the allergies of others (like me). Somebody brings their support cat, and I die of asphyxiation? They worry about allergies with peanuts, but not about animals? That's crazy.
Not to mention that some of these support claims are now totally bogus.
i think dogs like these need to be properly certified as service dogs to avoid issues like this. it has gotten to the point that too many people are claiming service dog status where none exists.

Like people with handicap stickers who should not have them.

That is a smart idea and should have already been done.
clarallel--- good article!
It makes me so irritated that people take advantage of this. If I saw a pig/big dog or whatever that was seated next to me on a plane, I would demand to be put in another seat. My allergies would be going haywire.

it is being done, unfortunately there are no teeth in the service dog laws to prevent people from just claiming to have a "service dog" without proper licensing.
Most people are but how else can Aunt Betty go shopping without little FooFoo in her purse?
