a GOP-led Congress would be wary of admitting a Democratic-leaning electorate like Puerto Rico's, and the debt-troubled island would likely require more federal spending to get back on its feet.
Here's what's gonna happen. Status quo remains and the old guys in this thread are just gonna go back to good ol Mexican and Muslim bashing again.
Why exaggerate and spin the truth? We have nothing against Mexicans here legally or peace loving Muslims that don't wish to harm us. But you knew that, didn't you?

Its not exaggeration or spin.
Immigration and the race issues around it are one issue where you should defend yourself and yourself alone if you are a member of the GOP.
While you may honestly not judge people by their skin color or religion, others do, many of which share the GOP platform.
WOOOOOOWWWWWWWW ... and what about Mississippi, Alabama, Kansas, South Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia, Oklahoma, etc? How they doin?
Oklahoma is doing very bad. Teachers, doctors and others are thinking about fleeing from the state. Republicans thought you could create a state of great economic prosperity by cutting the state income tax, while taxing oil companies lower than in any other state. It didn't work. Tax revenues plummeted, rather than skyrocket.
So it's not spin to claim that Republicans oppose Mexicans here legally? It's not spin to claim that the Republicans object to non-terrorist Muslims? Are you serious? You might want to prove your assertions because it's a flat out lie!
There will always be people regardless of party affiliation that judge people that way but not the majority and the GOP platform does not advocate for that. If so, prove it! I swear, the liberal left doesn't have an honest bone in their bodies.
if someone said "all", then sure, that is spin. But in your own post you admit that some do.
As for majority......... Ill just take your word for it, as I live in a deeply red area that skews my opinion.

Re-read what that poster said, nice try at spinning it though. He made a blanket statement about supposed old guys in this forum when he doesn't even know the age of every member of this forum and so-called bashing of "illegal" Mexicans and "radical" Muslims is not bashing the legal and peaceful ones and you know it! When I said some may do I wasn't speaking about anyone in this forum.
So you're saying that most who live in red states bash legal Mexicans and peaceful Muslims? Yeah, right!
Not this again! The judge from Mexican heritage had ties to La Raza and his lawyer's assoc. granted scholarships to illegal aliens. No conflict of interest there, right? Instead you guys want to make it about skin color and race. ...
There's no conflict here, as if Trump even mentioned any of that. If it quacks like a duck...

Is that what you call bashing?...
And btw, it's not only skin color conservatives have a problem with, but they also grapple with the religious bigots in their ranks...

The point is that they can only go so far in making their platform un-American, something's are better left unsaid...

The bold means you are being just as blind as you claim he is. There are plenty of openly racist people on this forum.

What I am saying is that I am a liberal Democrat, and I support a strong border and have no problem with deportation of adults, and I dont even have that much of a problem with deportation of children either.
Im probably to the right of you on immigration.........But im also light skinned and have been mistaken for mexican. Your side could never get me to side with them on immigration, because to many, it is about race or at least the perception of race.
