Trump's lawyer apparently hinted that it was possible. Since Mueller is so well respected on both sides of the aisle, and since this administration had considered him for fbi director, do you think this GOP congress would speak out against it?

If he fires Mueller, even the weak-kneed and spineless GOP will react, perhaps with impeachment proceedings.

There will be a breaking point when even the Republican "Igors" in congress will turn against their FrankenTrump.

Only a matter of time before someone acting like a guilty party becomes being a guilty party.

It would depend on the reason.

" If trump fires Mueller"

"IF a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his but"

It is a useless waste of time to deal in "IF",s

If Trump sold the Washington Monument to DeVos, Republicans would still back him.

They've backed his play thus far, no reason to believe they won't continue doing so. While Trump keeps everyone occupied, Republicans are busy tending to corporate interests.

It's all good.

Nope. Because if they fail to do anything about it people WILL react badly. If you think the Democrats were upset before, this would actually be people as many here accuse them of being.

And most Republicans would know something was up as well.

Once Trump starts doing stuff like that nothing good will happen.

There is an issue with Mueller. He and Comey are good friends, and that's a problem.

From Law Newz - "No DOJ employee may participate in a criminal investigation or prosecution if he has a personal or political relationship with any person or organization substantially involved in the conduct that is the subject of the investigation or prosecution, or who would be directly affected by the outcome."

Special Counsel Mueller Must Recuse from Comey Part of Inquiry | Law News

If Trump fires Mueller he must build a case about why with the American public first.

Mueller was friends and a mentor to Comey. He is tainted by his past relationship with Comey.

All the descriptions and comments we heard about honesty and integrity were misplace as Comey
removed all doubt about his integrity. Now we hear the same descriptions about Mueller. If he had integrity he would have not accepted the position of Special Counsel because he doesn't meet the requirements in regards to his friend Comey.

President Trump should have fired Mueller the day he was appointed. Just as he should have fired Comey on day one.

Let's face facts, Trumpees, Jesus Christ himself could be appointed as the head of this investigation, and you guys would still spin it toward him being not suited . "Well, if Jesus was so smart, why did he stick around and let them crucify him ?"

Mueller is the best man they could have chosen for this post. We know you would prefer Newt Gingrich, but that ain't gonna happen. Now, if Trump should be so stupid as to try to get rid of Mueller, that would seal his coffin right there on the spot........there would be no questions, on either side, that he was simply playing Dictator and eliminating all his detractors. You could not even begin to imagine the outcry from everyone if he pulled such a dumb trick.

Even Donald Trump is not THAT stupid ! (I think)
