I'm just glad that all these CD Conservatives finally see the absurdity of carving out exceptions to the law for deeply-held religious beliefs.
Show us where any conservatives "carved out" exceptions to the law for religious reasons. If you want to go there, it seems that the liberals are the ones making exceptions and coddling the Muslims, who they see as being persecuted and deserving of special treatment.
Yeah. Isn't it disgusting how do people will try use religion as a cover for their own disgusting greed and hatred?

Wrong. Conservatives base their claims on the US Constitution granting freedom of religion, not based on Sharia law as determined by a court in Sudan as was the case here. Did you read the article?

And how is that different than Christians trying to exempt themselves from law based on their pastors interpretation of the Bible?

Why are you playing dumb, like Conservatives haven't been trying for decades to use religious freedom as cover for their own brand of hate?
And in case you're going to try to claim this is somehow a left-wing lie, here's the Republican governor's own statement defending signing the legislation that his Republican legislature voted for: https://mobile.twitter.com/PhilBryan...963008/photo/1
He said the new law "merely reinforces" existing religious freedom rights, "does not limit any constitutionally protected rights or actions" and does not challenge federal law.
This is polar opposite to what the Muslims are doing with Sharia, which is to govern by those laws and not the laws of the United States.
Religious freedom is just that -- freedom to have your beliefs. It is not the same as imposing law with penalties, as Sharia does. Can you not make that distinction?

It doesn't matter if it's state, federal, or local law. Conservatives have been fighting for the right to ignore laws if it goes against their religious beliefs. If these religious freedom bills weren't intended to skirt law, why would they need to even need to make a law giving them that right?

You know as well as I do... there are 2 types of law....

No boo has asked for an exemption.
People have the right to refuse service and it can be based on religious principles.
But tort law is tort law and there is no exemption from that.
That idiot was trying to usurp a legal ruling based on law not practised in the US.
Take your atheist outrage somewhere else.
