The evidence overwhelmingly points to generations of brainwashing, that this naturally occurring leaf is bad for you. I think it's just really old school thinking to think that it should still be illegal. Nobody ever got high and said let's go rob a bank. Now on the other hand, alcohol is legal yet it destroys the body and relationships. Why?

His disease has blinded you. History has shown us that prohibition of intoxicants does not work, and in fact actually makes the problem worse. In your rage you have lost the ability to learn from history.

That is EXACTLY how the well-meaning citizens from before alcohol prohibition felt. The destruction to families that alcohol was causing was terrible. Banning it was only logical.
But they soon discovered that banning it didn't stop people from getting it and using it, plus it created an entire organized crime industry. Almost every reason the prohibitionists had for wanting it banned worsened.
In my opinion, that's the part you'll never get because you have a mental block due to your brother's disease.
