I have to understand, how a felon, is not a person?
"the right of the People"
The only way possible, you can lose your rights is to be dead, or incarcerated behind bars. Period.
Other than that, it is not illegal, until you get caught.
The 2017 version of the 2nd Amendment.
Militias are illegal as the Police State has replaced the Free State, the privilege of citizens 21 years and older, who are non-felons and mentally sane, may be allowed to keep the small arms the federal or state government allows and that may be altered at any moment the governments feel threatened by the people.
A felon is a criminal, not a person. It real simple: Don't cause harm to the People and you won't be convicted of a felony.
If felons want to own guns, they can move to Somalia.
A felon is someone who committed a crime that has a possible jail sentence of over 1 year. Doesn't mean they went to jail.
Violation of the endangered species act is a felony.
Wesley Snipes is a felon for not paying taxes.
Rolling back the odometer on a vehicle is a felony.
Not all felonies are violent or cause harm to people.
I don't necessarily say that people who commit those crimes shouldn't lose their right to own a firearm.. Especially while they're under any parole/probation.. But lifetime loss with no possibility to have them restored? Yeah.. Not so much.
Especially when someone can beat the crap out of their wife, get charged with a misdemeanor and keep them.

Actually that last part is incorrect. The same Federal law makes persons convicted of any state domestic violence charge prohibited from owning weapons, regardless of misdemeanor/felony status.

I'm aware of that, but it only applies if they are charged with a domestic violence offense.
Many will be allowed to plead out to simple assault, which bypasses that law.

This is true, and when it was first signed into law created an amusing circus in the LE arena. In Washoe county here in N Nv, that law effectively reduced the Washoe county Sheriffs dept manpower by better than a third. LOL, turns out a lot of deputies had some problems at home, and under this law could not even own a gun, let alone carry one for a living and wear a badge. Government hypocrisy went into fullswing, and "special exemptions" for LE personnel were ratified.
Yea, makes perfect sense right? Cops can beat their wives, or otherwise be considered guilty of domestic violence, but this is do as I say, not do as I do.

If I can make my own pistol, rifle, shotgun, or cannon, of any caliber in a day in my garage, what are you going to do, ban someone from raw metals?
