I mean really, who is surprised a NY real estate mogul, who owned casinos would have ties that are shady as heck? You all are fooling yourselves if you think Trump is the problem. Should he/Will he go to prison? Yes he will. Does it matter? No it doesn't.
Our once great nation committed suicide late 2016. All these people think by getting rid of Trump they can charge in and save the day. The reality is a functioning, working nation would never have elected him.
It's not even all his fault. He never expected to win - and he figured he's shake things up and go back to his life with mobsters and Russian deals. He had to know winning was likely going to cost him bigly. And it will.
But little did he know the country was suicidal and it indeed pulled the trigger on him.
So where do we go from here? Well, Trump will be behind bars soon enough. But guess what - The next guy and the next guy maybe 10 times worse, until one of them finally turns out the lights on this machine.
You may think you are winning by removing Trump. In reality he was just a symptom.
He's baaaaaad through and through. And he still thinks you run a country the way the Mafia runs the mob. Undying loyalty no matter what. No ethics, just blind loyalty. He won't go to prison. The most we can hope for is that his buddies will finally get so disgusted, embarrassed, sick of being dragged down with him, that they will turn on him and spill the beans.
He may resign. He could say that it's because he is such a good family man and he doesn't like the way his family is being dragged (they dragged themselves!) over the coals. His congress and aides are starting to see the light and will refuse to play along anymore.

Well, I would bet you 1,000 dollars he has multiple criminal violations that have nothing to do with time or running for POTUS. You can't run with the people he does and not have stains on you somewhere.
He was unwise to run, but he probably never thought he'd make it past the first round. Now, why he continued on is a mystery. He knew his past. Nonetheless, the next time the voters may put Charlie Manson in office. In fact, that's exactly what they'll do especially if Trump fights going down.
Obama told us he was going to fundamentally change America and Hillary was going to take up where he left off.
The people didn't agree. They wanted change.
Trump promised a redirection so he was elected but now he is finding out just how difficult the job is and how deep the swamp is.

I think the US is finding out just how careless and dirty Trump is. It's something many of us New Yorkers have known for decades.

I can't find a lot in what you posted to disagree with. First of all, there is NO question that Trump has been shady all his life. No human being can rack up the numerous bankruptcies, been sued as many times as he has, who has beaten many honest business people out of their hard earned money, and not be corrupt as Hell. Even the people in his home city/State know he is a dishonest pig.
Second, I tend to agree that Donald Trump was just the instrument that a lot of very unhappy people latched onto in their quest to destroy all the things they saw as corrupt and unfair in our current government. Yes, "a functioning, working nation" would not have elected such an unqualified man under normal circumstances.
I do not agree that he will be behind bars. Impeached, maybe. Forced to resign, more probable. But I think the GOP will give him an out to avoid really serious problems, and he will take the route Richard Nixon took, and resign.

I agree with this as well. As a resident of NYC most of my life I am familiar with most of Trump's many shady dealings. The word despicable comes to mind...
The GOP may as well be in cahoots with Trump the way they're allowing him to dismantle our democracy and confirm questionable Cabinet heads like Pruitt, Sessions and Devos.... I have a feeling they will eventually force him to resign before sh*t hits the fan and bring the rest of the GOP down with him. Six months into office and Trump is hurting, not helping their legislative efforts in anyway. At this point they must be thinking Pence would be a better President because he's more like them and won't come with a closet of skeletons.
