I have to give them credit on this one. An lone, overweight, elderly man armed with a knife or baseball bat, running around a baseball field trying to attack Congresspeople probably young enough to be his children? Laughable, but put a gun in his hand and it is deadly.

THIS is the real issue, not politics, not religion, not even mental illness. Guns. Sorry, NRA, MORE guns are not the solution. "Rounding Third, Carrying an AK-47, and Headed for Home" ???????? NO, NRA. LESS guns is what is needed.

I am a Sanders supporter, who voted for Hillary. Senseless Violence, be that against a Democrat, Republican, Black Churchgoers, or School Children.

Eliminate the MEANS, and the Motive becomes Moot.

There are as many guns in this country as there are people. Guns aren't going anywhere. Bad guys want and have them. Good guys want and have them. Neither group is going to give them up. No point in discussing it anymore.

So then you are willing to live with the consequences and just give up?

the only problem you have is that pesky second amendment that few want to get rid of.

No point for you maybe but you don't speak for me or anyone else on this country. Or is the first amendment just toilet paper to you?

There needs to be much better regulation of guns. Most countries with more guns are not more but less safe. Restricting high capacity assault weapons is a good start.

Banning good guys from having guns isn't going to solve anything. Do you really think that's the answer?

Even if it were remotely possible to get rid of gun violence, it would just be replaced by something else. If someone wants to hurt or kill people, they won't sit there wishing "if only guns were legal, I could do it...but...well...guess I'll just go back to my normal life".

Why do you want to own a gun? Just because I want one and it is my right? Not good enough. Establish a NEED, as many state do have on the books.

It certainly should be interesting to see the NRA response to this. I also read that this man was an out of state resident, meaning he had to take his guns across state lines, which NRA thinks should be legal across state lines. Do you favor that also? Carry permits universal across the country?

You cannot escape this issue. Gun control.
