WASHINGTON — As they draft legislation to repeal the Affordable Care Act, Senate Republican leaders are aiming to transform large sections of the American health care system without a single hearing on their bill and without a formal, open drafting session.
That has created an air of distrust and concern — on and off Capitol Hill, with Democrats but also with Republicans.

“I’ve said from Day 1, and I’ll say it again,” said Senator Bob Corker, Republican of Tennessee. “The process is better if you do it in public, and that people get buy-in along the way and understand what’s going on. Obviously, that’s not the route that is being taken.”

Senator Ron Johnson, Republican of Wisconsin, offered a hint of the same frustration felt by Democrats seeking more information about the bill.
“I come from a manufacturing background,” Mr. Johnson said. “I’ve solved a lot of problems. It starts with information. Seems like around here, the last step is getting information, which doesn’t seem to be necessarily the most effective process.”
At a Senate hearing on Thursday, Tom Price, the secretary of health and human services, said that he, too, had not seen the elusive Senate bill.

So we can be sure that it's just another garbage attempt, or they would be struttin it out for all to see!

It should be illegal to pass bills without disclosing what's in them first.

Maybe they should pass the bill to see what's in it...

That should not be how it works.

Pending bills should be disclosed so that the people have a chance to make their voices heard by reaching out to their reps.

The GOP can't or won't articulate the goals of their legislation. They have to hide that their primary goal is to cut government expenses on Medicaid and Medicare, remove consumer protections, and make sick people fend for themselves. Sure, they'll tinker with, for example, $800 million, (no, no, make it $900 million!) in funding for high risk pools but its a minor tinker that remains inadequate. The House bill needs rewriting & a new approach not tinkering & polishing a turd.

Undoubtedly not PC, but my sympathy for the Republicans harmed in the DC shooting is tempered by this thought:

One thing they do not have to worry about.......their healthcare taking care of all medical expenses.

I keep wondering how the average American would fare under the same circumstances if the Republicans get their way with healthcare?

Would the healthcare costs of being an innocent victim destroy them financially?

Democracy, my butt. This is how things work in a third world banana republic.

No wonder Kim Jong Trump loves Putin and the Saudi king so much.
