No, two armed civilians (the one called the other, his neighbor). They both confronted the escapees, who had lost their stolen guns in a car wreck. A good thing, too. The escapees were on a crime spree, including several counts of murder.

Nobody is going to wear a gun while playing/practicing ball. It was a complete non point. Nobody has every argued that the ability to carry would stop every single crime. The police can't be everywhere. The argument is that someone with a gun can stop someone else with one.

That is what happened.

This was in Virginia I believe. Check out the gun laws of Virginia and Maryland. Cross state lines and a gun owner could be in trouble. Some states do not recognize other states permits which is odd in itself. One needs a permission to defend themselves?
I thought at least some in congress would have body guards.

Overturned in 2014. Recent push for DC to recognize other states concealed carry laws.

Once again, the key part you choose to leave out is that professional law enforcement officers stopped him. Just as they stop lots of crimes around the country every day. Which doesnt have a damn thing to do with the point the OP was making.

Sure it does. Others with a gun would be as capable.

I will stand by my view....when I feel I have to have a gun to keep me or my loved ones safe...I'm moving to someplace where I don't need a gun to keep me safe. And yes I will give up all the luxuries I have before I get a gun to defend myself against imminent danger.
